Parish Council Report – May 2014

May 2014

As there are general and council elections in 2015, both Cllr. Steve Waltho and Cllr. Julie Lyne agreed to remain as Chair and Vice Chair for another year. This will ensure continuity on the excellent work they are both doing on the link road issue.

Cllr. Tamsin MacCormack has taken over the website and is making excellent progress in filling it up with local information. If your group is not yet on or you have an event you wish to publicise, please e mail Tamsin on Tamsin.MacCormack@gmail.com. The Council website is www.eatoncheshire.co.uk

There is nothing further to report at present on the link road.

We need one volunteer to join the team of three councillors making a monthly safety inspection of the children’s play area in the park. There is a check list to go with the post and you pass your completed check to a member of the council. Please contact the clerk if you can undertake this. Rospa have made their annual safety inspection of the park and there are no issues to be raised.

Cllr. John Coates has been keeping a log of any incidents on the A536 Macclesfield Road and this is VERY IMPORTANT for any future negotiations with Cheshire East and Highways on possible improvements to this road through our village if the link road goes ahead. Please contact John with anything you note, however minor, on 275728. Also, please report to the Clerk any incidents of suspicious behaviour or crime in the village for the log which is being maintained.

Finally, the Clerk is pleased to report that the Council has received an entirely clean report on the accounts from the internal auditor for the year 2013/14.

Next meeting Tuesday 8th July in the Church Hall at 7.00 pm.

Dorothy Waite – Clerk to the Council – 276385
